Puerto Princesa's Underground River

UNDERGROUND RIVER

And this is the most anticipated of all, the tour to Underground River! Rate is P1,500 per head.

The van picked us up at 7:30am because we are the first group daw among the guests to be picked up. It took us one and a half hour before we reached the Sabang wharf. In a normal trip, it would take 2hours or more. Mala-bitukang manok kasi ang daan. Roller coaster ride.

And finally, the Puerto Princesa Subterrannean River National Park is welcoming us.

where the boat docks to pick up passengers

Upon arriving at the wharf, our guide coordinated and gave us a number. After 30minutes of waiting, we are on board na. And the group before us is the group of Ms. Rica Peralejo. Wala lang. hehe

These two German ladies ay kasama din namin sa van.

From the wharf to the jump off to the underground river, mga 10 to 15 minutes boat ride siguro.

We have the same shirts noh? Uso yan sa amin. Haha

The staff gave one audio aide for each. This will serve as the tour guide inside the underground river. Talking and making noise kasi is strictly prohibited. First, there are nocturnal animals like bats and other creatures inside. Second, our breath can be harmful to the good ecosystem that is flowing inside. And third, baka pagbukas ng bibig mo, biglang dumumi ang mga bats. Eh di nasaktuhan ka db? Haha

While waiting for our turn, we roam around the area. Picture doon, picture dito. Pangarap to eh. Haha

The underground river entrance

And finally, its our turn.

And the audio aide started talking while we are entering the cave.

The national park is located in the Saint Paul Mountain Range. The city government has managed the national park since 1992.

On November 11, 2011, the Puerto Princesa Undergroud River was provisionally chosen as one of the 7Wonders of the World and was officialyy confirmed on January 28, 2012.

These are the few pictures that we have capture inside. Since its dark and the boat is moving, mahirap makakuha ng magandang anggulo.

There are lots of formed stalagmites and stalactites inside. And if you have a very wild imagination, matutuwa ka sa mga formed structures.

And the most interesting part is the cave dome which can be found at the latter part of the tour. This measures 980 feet above the underground river.

Ok, ok. I don't want to be a spoiler anymore. It is better you explore the river by yourselves. :)

way back to the wharf
Upon arriving at the wharf, we proceeded na to one of the big eateries there. Buffet lunch is included in tour pala.

We had our time of our life in eating. Ngayon lang kami na-satisfy sa buffet. Hehe

To sum up our Palawan escapade, here is a short amateur video created by hubby.
